background

Hôpital de Sorel - Urgence

The requirements for this project were very similar to those of the LaSalle Hospital Emergency Unit expansion: respect for the norms as they pertain to sterile surfaces, reorganization of traffic flow, reorganization of vehicle access and ambulatory access for emergency and outpatient clinics, reorganization of internal flow of traffic so that it is shared between clientele and personnel, and reinforcement of the entrances. While the scope of the project was similar, the element of facility expansion was more significant in the case of the Sorel hospital.

Initially, the project was developed following a sequence of complex and demanding phases. In consultation with the establishment, a temporary building was developed at the cost of $1.9M. Professional evaluations recommended that this avenue was to be more economical than a complex phasing of the project, while causing less stress to the personnel whose daily activities would be affected.

Completed in consortium with Daniel Cournoyer | Jodoin Lamarre Pratte and Associates in consortium.
